Throne room full tileset (floor, walls, banners, windows, throne)
In the first week (week 5), I created a grass / ground tileset similar to the forest one I made last sprint, but for the village this time. This is not the most polished, and may be replaced or modified in the coming weeks as our vision for the village is refined, but Teo needed something to use in the meantime. I also did not meet my time requirement this week, as I was participating in the Wsoft Mega Jam, with Musa and Jacob (we won!!)
In the second week, I was assigned to create a tileset for the throne room of the castle. I knew from the start that I wanted to have banners hanging along the walls of the throne room, (and the castle as a whole). One particular challenge I faced creating them was trying to make them visually interesting, while avoiding any natural influences; the king and his kingdom are supposed to be the enemy of the forest, nature, and the natural world, so I wanted their symbolism to contrast it in every way. Similarly, the stone tiles that make up the throne room's flooring are cut perfectly square, and the windows are mostly composed of rectangular panes. I spent some extra time making and detailing this tileset to make up for the hours I did not quite complete in week 5 because of the game jam.
Next week, I will be creating a tileset for the outside areas of the castle, looking to keep the same design language with a more weathered look to it.
